Invite Bert to Speak
"Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on rock."  Matthew 7:24
Currently Bert is offering talks on the following subjects, but he can develop talks on spirituality, faith, Christian living, and Catholicism to suit the needs of your event.

Adventures in Daily Prayer
God engages us in loving relationships and constantly works to initiate conversations with us. Our response is to spend time with him in prayer. In this talk Bert Ghezzi shares about his adventures over four decades of daily prayer. Topics include faithfulness, praying in God’s presence, listening to God, cultivating a habit of thanksgiving, interceding for others, and persevering through problems at prayer.

Drawing Closer to God with the Saints
The example of the saints shows that holiness is possible for all us. It’s simply a matter of setting our hearts on loving God and loving others—then God will make it happen. This encouraging talk describes the key ways of responding to God’s initiatives to draw us close and illustrates them in the lives of saints. You will learn from well known saints like Thérèse of Lisieux and Francis of Assisi, as well as less familiar saints like Aelred of Rievaulx and Pier Giorgio Frassati.

The Sign of the Cross: Recovering the Power of the Ancient Prayer
Early Christians made the sign of the cross frequently as a powerful source of grace for daily life. This talk helps twenty-first-century Christians rediscover the blessing and power of that ancient prayer. Consider with the speaker six ways that the sign of the cross releases divine energy in our lives, expands our spiritual freedom, and equips us to grow to maturity in Christ.

Wisdom of the Saints for Everyday Living
In this practical and entertaining talk, Bert Ghezzi shows the human side of the saints so that by identifying with their weaknesses we can better imitate their strengths. You will learn the life-message of familiar saints such as Teresa of Avila and Francis Xavier and less well-known saints such as Lutgarde and Frederic Ozanam.

Sacred Passages: Bringing the Sacraments to Life
As a young man the speaker discovered a series of realities that revolutionized his understanding of the sacraments and the way he approached them. Explore with him eight enlightening, life-enhancing truths that will transform your understanding and experience of the sacraments

Why Jesus Matters
Popular views say that Jesus was a good man, a great teacher, and a great moral example and that he came so that we could go to heaven. But Jesus is something far beyond these limited human callings and came to do far more than open heaven. This dynamic talk explains who Jesus really is, that he came to launch God’s great project to reclaim all of creation, and that he challenges and equips us to collaborate with him in this work.

Everyday Evangelization: How to Share Your Faith With Confidence
Patiently removing obstacles that block Catholics from doing evangelization, Bert uses Scripture, the teaching of the popes, and personal testimony to persuade Catholics of their daily responsibility and opportunity to bring relatives, friends, neighbors, and others closer to Christ. The talk is chockfull of practical advice about how to participate effectively in the New Evangelization.

Keeping Kids Catholic: Five Things Parents Can Do
Raising kids Catholic feels like a difficult and challenging task. But because God wants our children to freely choose him and because he gives plenty of grace, parents are only responsible for a limited part of the job of handing on the faith to their kids. Learn five things parents can do to keep their kids Catholic (without feeling guilty about apparent failures in parenting).

How and Why the Catholic Church Identifies Saints
An interesting and engaging look at the reasons why and the way the Catholic Church identifies some women and men as saints. The talk examines the evolution of the saint-making process from early times to the present. And it discusses such questions as why the church honors saints and encourages people to pray to them.

The Power of One
We may feel insignificant and helpless to do much about evil and problems that we encounter. But the truth is that each of us has the power to make a big difference in our worlds. Because of our position in Christ and our participation in his very life, he empowers and equips each one of us to continue his ministry of overcoming evil with good. This talk shows you the power that you have and how to use it to serve God and others.

Persevering in Hope
We feel that we know a lot about love and faith, but the meaning and importance of hope seems to elude us. This talk lays out the nature, meaning, and significance of hope for our lives. Hope is more than putting up with the things of earth until we get to heaven. It is a powerful grace that directs our daily lives to the purpose for which God created us. And it equips us to live our daily Christian lives effectively by prompting us to count on the Lord to get us through whatever comes against us.

Celebrating Lent With the Saints
Learn from the experience and teaching of the saints how to give yourself more fully to God in the Lenten season. A sampling of the saints' practice of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving will help you reap the maximum benefit from your penitential observance of this holy season.
